Dublin, Ireland

April 2002

Gary and Arne (Dutch guy, real nice) at St. James Gate of the Guinness Brewery. That is what Dublin is most proud of. This is actually the day before I landed.

Hotel room in Dublin. Gary's room where I slept for a few hours while he was at work. Then they kicked me out b/c check out time was past. We had to head on to Athlone b/c Gary had to be there first thing in the morning.

Radison Hotel we stayed here after we got back from Athlone. It was a huge suite. That night we went to Taylor's Three Rock to see and Irish fold band, step dancing and to eat.

More of our suite at the Radison.

You know it must have been a nice hotel. It had it's own helicopter pad.

Here is a view of Dublin City Park. One of many. Really nice place to walk.

How appropriate that Dublin should have a Saint Patrick's Cathedral.

More of Saint Patrick's Cathedral. This is also where Gary dropped the camera lens cover through the church fence and he had to go all the way around to find it. Better than a set of keys!!

Here is the Guiness Storehouse. Those tall cylinders are vats for holding beer. The disk looking thing up there is a pub. You will see pics of us up there in a minute.

Inside the Guiness Museum shows you how the beer is made and tells you the history of the beer.

Believe it or not, when Guiness was first made, doctors claimed it was good for you. Some people still say that. :)

Here is the view I promised you from the Guiness Storehouse Pub. It is overlooking Dublin.

Here we are drinking a local made Guiness. Actually here I am HOLDING a local made Guiness.
