Glenfiddich Distillery
Scotland

August 19, 2002

Here we have arrived on the Whisky Trail. We selected to tour Glenfiddich because it is supposedly on of the best most complete tours, and it was free.

Mashing is one of the first steps in making whisky. The grist is made from something. Barley. I just looked it up. Glenfiddch also seems to have a pretty good website.

Obviously the special ingredient in this distillary is cat. We never saw the cat, but you can see it's food bowl. Cat in the Vat: The book Dr. Seus never wrote.

Distillation Vats.

Ok you can't tell how big this is but it is HUGE!! It is a barrel about 20 feet across and about 30 feet deep (rough estimates). This one is currently being filled with Whisky in process.

Here is the storage area were barrels go for ageing. The shortest ageing process takes 12 years.

Here we are at the end of the tour. This is the sampling area. I got a spiced whisky that was pretty good.

I'm guessing either the employees were bored or a tourist had to much whisky.
