Scone Castle

August 18, 2002

We can't remember anything anything facinating other than it has cool ivy. It is pronounced Skoon though.

Ok, here is what was cool. I knew something was. Boot Hill. The sign says: "Site of the coronation of the Kings of Scotland and of Scottish Parliaments. Artificail mound created by earth brought in the boots of lords swearing loyalty to their King."

This is just a picture of the grounds. They were very pretty. We didn't go in the castle because the tour book says it wasn't worth the money.

close up of the previous picture.

In the gardens was an old monument. Did really say what it was to so for all I know it could be the scottish equivalent to a pink flamingo.

It was raining so Gary and I were sharing a very tiny umbrella. This picture makes me laugh everytime I see it!

Moss and tombstones. We saw alot of that on the grounds of this castle. We didn't stay here to long because of the rain.

Ok more tombstones. But isn't interesting that things are so much older in Europe. I mean in Dallas to have a 100 year old house is virtually unheard of! Here it is the norm.

This is another picture for Tricia. So she doesn't miss her old house.
